A personal highlight each summer is the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy.
The event which showcases both emerging and established artists, has been presented since, 1769!
Everything displayed is for sale.
The experience can feel at times, like an assault on the senses.
Or one can think of it as an exercise for the eye, quickly sifting through all that is offered, to find a simple piece of poetry.
Other pieces I liked used found objects from the Japanese earthquake.
The idea of repurposing from catastrophe and what is left behind, is for me, a re-encountering of, hope.
