My daughter came home briefly this weekend.
When she left, I took a neglected Bruno out to the Commons. On a whim, I did something I don’t normally do. I sat down in the (fading) sun.
Bruno was initially surprised.
Soon he caught on to the idea of us, hanging out. He would dash off to explore and play…
Then come running back, looking extremely pleased.
Bruno makes my heart sing.
I thought of Milan Kundera. “… paradise. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring- it was peace.”
