London Fashion Weekend kicked off today on a high octane note.
The 11:30am show was a tour de force of editing trends for the coming season. See by Chloe, Elizabeth and James, Alexander Wang, Diesel, Red Valentino, House of Holland, Punk, Versus Versace, and Osman, were some of the brands presented.
Spring-Summer 2016 trends that stood out for me were-
a low blocked/square heel.
Designers seemed to acknowledge the shift in the unpredictability of present climate conditions, and that women may prefer pieces that crossover from Fall/Winter into the Spring/Summer months. This I am surmising from the abundance of ideas that especially in the past, one might associate more readily with the colder seasons-
The silhouettes presented were clean and without fuss, which felt current for me.
For today’s event, emerging Milan-based, British-born designer Bav Tailor (aka my new friend!), generously sent me another dress from her eponymous collection.
This is her Shakti Lace Gown, and is made out of 100% natural, virgin wool. Tossed together with black elements from the High Street and French Houses, worn with characteristic nonchalance, I simply felt, best-dressed.
